Fees, Insurance and Reimbursement

Seeking therapy should be a seamless process, ensuring accessibility for anyone in need of support and transformative change. However, navigating insurance coverage for mental health therapy can often feel like navigating a labyrinthine maze. Despite the significant strides made in recognizing the importance of mental health in overall well-being, insurance companies frequently undervalue mental health services, creating significant hurdles for both therapists and clients.

Unlike physical health services, mental health therapy often falls victim to the cost-saving measures of insurance companies. Reimbursement rates for mental health providers are typically among the lowest, reflecting a disparity in the perceived value of mental health care compared to other medical services. This disparity is evident in the arduous process therapists face in obtaining reimbursements from insurance companies, which can stretch from weeks to months for a single session.

In the face of such challenges, I operate as a private pay and out-of-network therapist (OON). My standard rate for a 45-minute session is $175. While I strive to make therapy accessible to all, recognizing that financial constraints can be a significant barrier, I offer a sliding scale fee structure tailored to accommodate both your needs and mine. I encourage you to inquire about this option, as it's important to me that finances not stand in the way of your mental well-being.

It's worth noting that I can provide invoices for insurance reimbursements, should you choose to pursue that avenue. However, it's essential to be aware that while insurance coverage may offer some relief, it often falls short of adequately addressing the true cost and value of mental health therapy. As we embark on this journey together, my priority remains your holistic well-being, ensuring that you receive the support and care you deserve.
